Invention of television
The first television was invented in 1927 by a 21 year old named Philo Taylor Farnsworth. Although it was invented so early, families didn't have them in their homes until the 1950's. By the 50's 20 million homes had televisions. The reason why families had them 30 years later was because in the 50's their were 98 stations on the T.V., many movies were played on it, and news stations started to use T.V.'s instead of radios. Also it covered the first presidential campaign in the 50's. The best invention of all was created in the 50's, the remote control. No longer would you have to get up to change the channel! And color television became popular in 1954 which was the same year that I Love Lucy and The Tonight Show with Steve Allen aired. The reason why T.V.'s were popular during this time was because this was when televisions were actually used by many companies and when it became entertaining.
