Post 3: Dinner Menu
5 Course Meal:
Soup: Loaded Lies Potato Soup
Why I chose this: I chose this loaded lies potato soup because President Nixon lied to the whole entire country about what he did; and there were so many facts that needed to be unfolded in this investigation which is why I am using 'loaded lies'.
Appetizer: Samples of Fast food from McDonalds and Burger King
Why I chose this: I chose giving out samples of fast food for the appetizer because in the film Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward were so busy figuring out the investigation that they only had time to eat fast food. I also chose this as the appetizer because it is always a shower part of a dinner meal representing the time frame that the two journalists used to eat meals.
Salad: Cottage cheese, pineapple, cucumber, and tomato salad.
Why I Chose this: I chose this salad as a part of the dinner because President's Nixon's last meal was pineapple and cottage cheese. This was a big moment for the U.S. because they realized how they could not trust the President that has been lying to the citizens for so long.
Entree: Oysters with lemon and crackers
Why I Chose this: I chose to do oysters because you must open up the oyster shell to get the fish. This is a metaphor for the whole watergate scandal because they had to open up a lot of people and a lot of informations to solve the investigation. Also I added the crackers because Bob and Carl had to "crack" open the investigation which is a metaphor for both the crackers and oysters.

Dessert: Chocolate Piñata with Fruit Hidden Inside
Why I chose this: I chose a chocolate piñata because you also have to break open this delicious dessert. I personally had this at a restaurant in Birmingham and you have a big stick and literally break open this piñata so that all the fruit and chocolate is splattered out on the plate. I also used this as a pun about breaking open the investigation but once you do break it open there are piles of stuff everywhere. In the film Carl and Bob had papers, pens, and writing everywhere when this investigation was going on. The piñata represents all of this.
Drinks: Coffee, Milk, Water, and Sodas
Why I chose this: I chose soda as a drink because Carl and Bob Woodward drank sodas a lot in the film to be able to stay awake and when they were getting a quick bite to eat since they spent so much time on this investigation. I also chose coffee as a drink because Carl and Bob needed caffeine a lot of the time to keep the awake. Not only that but Carl drank close to 8 cups of coffee at one of the women's homes to get as much information out of her as much as possible. The next drink I chose was milk, because that was the last drink Nixon had in the White House and this was a significant time for the U.S. because the president resigned.
